What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a therapy based on the principle that all parts of the body are linked to reflexes in the feet, hands and face, and that the entire body is mirrored on the hands and the feet.
In Reflexology the body is divided into ten vertical zones, 5 on each foot and hand. Each zone contains different energy pathways. These pathways are called meridians. Energy flows around the body along the meridians in much the same way blood flows around the body in veins and arteries.
Pressure on each particular point of the foot, face or hand will send an energetic signal along that particular pathway, with that zone. This stimulates the organs and parts of the body located along that pathway. By stimulating the corresponding area within the same zone on the foot, the reflexologist can treat another part of the recipient's body that is within the same zone.
Reflexology is a holistic therapy, it aims to treat the whole person, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
